MBM Office Expansion - Sydney‍

With MBM’s growing Sydney team, an Office Expansion at 1 Chifley Square was essential. Renascent was engaged to deliver a full office fit-out for MBM, supporting their business growth and operational needs. The project involved expanding their existing workspace on Level 5 to include a newly built office on Level 6.

Meeting the completion deadline of 20 December 2024 was critical, as MBM had employees scheduled to move in over the holiday period, and we successfully achieved this milestone. The office design also incorporated heritage window façade elements to maintain architectural integrity. Additionally, early comms room handover was prioritised to ensure a seamless operational transition.

Challenges & Mitigation Strategies

1.     Occupancy Certificate (OC) Deadline: We initiated the process early, maintained proactive communication with trades and the PCA, and pushed timelines to ensure compliance.

2.     Hardwood Flooring & Kitchen Installation Sequencing: Due to the complex nature of the timber flooring installation, we meticulously managed site sequencing to allow for smooth trade transitions while maintaining efficiency.

3.     Glazing & Door Hardware Delays: We overcame these delays by re sequencing work and implementing an accelerated push in the final completion week.

Project Outcomes

The project was delivered on schedule, with OC achieved one day early. MBM expressed strong satisfaction with the outcome, which was reflected in positive feedback from their team.
