To continue to deliver world class teaching facilities, the Australian Catholic University undertook an upgrade of their Science and Nursing faculties teaching and preparation spaces.
Located at the North Sydney JCB Campus the project consisted of a full strip out and make good over two floors. The scope covered the construction and installation of specialist and technical spaces. These included a science education laboratory, teaching laboratory and lesson preparation spaces, along with a research facility within the science faculty.
The technical features of these areas included integrated services, including gas for experimental science, laboratory grade joinery and benches and specialty floor finishes.
The nursing department also underwent a significant upgrade. The new space now consists of 40 active nurse teaching points, state of the art AV installation throughout all four simulation wards. The simulation wards also required fully integrated biomed gases, specialist air-conditioned environments and electrical installation at each bed location to provide adequate teaching and simulation for the students.
Further to the teaching areas, office space for staff was also updated with large purpose built storage facilities for medical equipment and supplies.
