Renascent NSW (Regional) breathed new life into Orange's main shopping centre with an extensive refurbishment and upgrade of The Village (Summer) Centre. Situated in the heart of Orange, this centre has long been a cherished hub for the local community.

The primary goal of the project was to revitalise the shopping precinct by upgrading the existing base building areas, creating an improved aesthetic experience for customers, and attracting new tenants.

Carried out in a live environment, the project involved two main areas of work:

  • Refurbishment of the shopping centre and public spaces, including internal, external, and façade improvements.
  • Demolition and reconfiguration of existing tenancies with new services.

Ensuring the shopping centre remained operational throughout the build, including the bustling IGA Grocery Outlet, was crucial. This was achieved through meticulous planning and staging, with hoardings to manage noise and dust. The majority of work, including significant structural steel entry construction, was completed at night.

This facelift has reinvigorated the shopping precinct, giving it a fresh lease on life. As a Design and Construct project for Renascent, careful upfront design was essential to ensure the smooth execution of works.
