Sydney Team Wins MBA Award for Royal Botanic Garden Sydney Project

Renascent Wins MBA Award for the Transformation of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney’s Robert Brown Building 

We’re excited to announce that Renascent has received the prestigious MBA Award in the category of Refurbishment/Renovation/Extension: $10 Million - $20 Million for our work on the Robert Brown Building at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. 

This award-winning project involved the careful transformation of the 1970s structure into a vibrant new home for the Research Centre for Ecosystem Resilience (ReCER). Our team balanced modern design with heritage conservation, delivering state-of-the-art laboratories, flexible office spaces, and commercial zones while preserving the building’s historical significance.

Key features of the project include: ‍

• ‍Laboratories and office spaces: Designed to support cutting-edge research, with both permanent and hot-desking options. ‍
• Façade and roofing upgrades: Major external improvements to modernise the building while maintaining its heritage integrity. ‍
• Environmental protection: Special measures were put in place to protect the Garden’s unique ecosystem during construction. ‍
• Exhibition space: The Garden Gallery provides a unique area for public engagement, offering visitors a glimpse into the scientific work happening behind the scenes.
