First Vertical School in Sydney Catholic Schools Portfolio

Project
November 28, 2024

Refurbishment efforts are well underway at our latest educational project in Woolloomooloo, where a heritage-listed structure is being transformed into a state-of-the-art vertical education facility. This project requires a careful balance of historic preservation, with modern functionality, to create an environment that supports contemporary educational needs.

Whilst initial building remediation works are progressing, our team is working closely with various regulatory authorities to meet stringent compliance standards, particularly in regard to heritage conservation. A notable design approval is underway with Sydney Water to manage a historical sewer which impacts the design and construction of a new landscaped terrace, requiring precise coordination to protect both the structure and surrounding infrastructure.

Essential building services are being upgraded throughout the facility, including new gas main connections, advanced fire life safety systems, and a comprehensive upgrade to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to meet modern specifications.

Upon completion, this facility will stand as a benchmark in the refurbishment buildings, providing a dynamic, high-quality educational environment.
