Renascent recently completed an extensive upgrade of the prestigious Aurora Place, located in the bustling heart of Sydney’s CBD. A masterpiece of visionary design, this award-winning development was designed by Renzo Piano, the mastermind behind some of the world’s most iconic buildings, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Auditorium of the Parco della Musica in Rome.
The extensive refurbishment of Aurora’s lobby and forecourt was key to its evolution, breathing fresh life into the external piazza and effectively resetting the ground floor plain and surrounds to meet the expectations of premium-grade commercial users, enhancing the building's public presence and pedestrian management strategies. A crucial part of this project was our commitment to Renzo Piano's architectural vision, ensuring that the refurbishments seamlessly integrated with Aurora Place's original design ethos.
The project, spanning two separable portions encompassed a comprehensive upgrade of the existing cavernous lobby and lift lobby spaces with aesthetic and functional enhancements, including new signature limestone floor and wall stone, bespoke custom seating, feature lighting, digital directories, and a modernised café and kitchen. The external Piazza forecourt area was reimagined with an elliptical garden and new landscaping elements, enriching the building's entrance.
